NOTE: Please ensure to have a survey carried out by a Corgi registered gas installer to check and certify the compatibility of your chimney or flue with this fire before making any purchase to avoid disappointment. This product does not require a hearth to be installed on the floor providing the product is installed up in the wall with a minimum height of 70mm from floor level. If there is already a correct sized air vent within the proposed room of installation then the no vent glass canopy option will not be required when installing this product. The 125mm 5" gather hood option is available if you are connecting to a prefabricated flue or in instances where the product is being installed into an open chimney without a liner, which will also help to minimise heat loss and soot / debris falls onto the fire. However the gather hood can only be purchased and used in conjunction with the no vent glass canopy option regardless of whether you have an existing air vent in the room. Please note that whilst soot deposits on a gas fire are quite normal and to be expected, they will be more visible on a pebble or driftwood fuel effect. Similarly you may experience discolouration on the stainless steel back panel behind the fire which will vary in degree dependant on the flue pull and other local conditions, which again is quite normal and to be expected. It is recommended that this fire should not be used as a sole source of heat rather as a secondary source in conjunction with central heating.
