Notes NOTE: Please ensure to have a survey carried out by a Corgi registered gas installer to check and certify the compatibility of your chimney or flue with this fire before making any purchase to avoid disappointment. A class 1 gather hood is available as an optional extra if you are connecting to a prefabricated flue or in instances where the product is being installed into an open chimney without a liner, which will also help to minimise heat loss and soot / debris falls onto the fire over time. Whilst fitting a gather hood is not considered to be a mandatory requirement (except when using a flexible flue liner or prefabricated flue), Capital Fireplaces recommend that a proprietary gather hood should be installed with each chamber installation. If you have opted to purchase any of the LB, Storm, Tempest, Hurricane or Tornado frames then you will require a sound structure in order to fix them to the wall (Please consult with your Corgi gas installer on this point). Due to the manufacturing process all dimensions shown are approximate and may vary slightly to allow for a tolerance of +/- 10mm. Also be sure to add 10mm to each individual dimension to establish the actual size of void required to install the raised chamber in the wall. Please note that whilst soot deposits on a gas fire are quite normal and to be expected, they will be more visible on a pebble, firewood or driftwood fuel effect. Similarly you may also experience discolouration when choosing the stainless steel chamber, which is the back panel behind the fire, which will vary in degree dependant on the flue pull and other local conditions, which again is quite normal and to be expected. *Although Capital Fireplaces display some of their products in photographs with and without a hearth the ultimate decision of whether a hearth is required or not is that of your Corgi registered gas installer, as Building regulations and Corgi regulations may differ in areas throughout the UK. However for the avoidance of doubt Capital Fireplaces would recommend that a hearth is installed.
